Job summary

Northwestern Medicine seeks a Compliance Coordinator to assure regulatory compliance in Transfusion Medicine, Pathology, and Blood Gas Lab. You will travel to off-site locations, maintain QA programs, and collaborate with Medical Directors and Managers to ensure adherence to standards.

You will develop knowledge of regulatory requirements, lead inspections, and provide consultation across departments to maintain accreditation and patient safety. Requires strong analytical and training skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years experience in clinical laboratory, Transfusion Medicine, or Blood Gas Laboratory.
• Knowledge of CAP and TJC Standards; IDOT, OSHA and CLIA regulations; CLSI guidelines.
• Experience with quality systems and audits.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains a quality management system for lab services.
• Ensures compliance with federal, state, local regulations and accrediting bodies.
• Plans for accreditation inspections and manages related reporting.
• Reviews incidents and tracks quality issues; presents findings to management.
• Trains staff on quality, compliance and safety.
• Authors and revises SOPs and quality plans; maintains regulatory records.
• Coordinates audits and communicates results to leadership.
