Tokio Marine North America Services (TMNAS) is seeking a Software Engineer I to support development, configuration, testing, and maintenance of enterprise Java applications. This entry-level role targets recent graduates eager to learn and contribute under guidance of senior engineers.

You will work with business analysts, QA, and teammates; write unit tests; participate in code reviews; follow SDLC/Agile practices; and help with documentation, deployment, and environment support.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, or related technical discipline by start date.
• 0-2 years of software development experience, including internships or projects.
• Familiarity with Java, OOP, data structures, and web development basics.
• Experience with IDEs such as IntelliJ IDEA or Eclipse is a plus.
• Exposure to REST, SQL, Git, and SDLC/Agile practices is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist design, development, configuration, and maintenance of Java-based applications.
• Collaborate with analysts, QA, and stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver tasks.
• Develop, test, and debug components using Java, web tech, and tools.
• Participate in code reviews and learning sessions to grow engineering skills.
• Write and run unit tests to ensure code quality and reliability.
• Support deployment, environment setup, and documentation as needed.
• Follow SDLC, Agile/Scrum practices, and coding guidelines.
