Job summary

American University Washington College of Law seeks an Associate Director of Academic Advising to lead JD student advising from matriculation through graduation. Qualifications

• Juris Doctor or equivalent required.
• Admission to the bar preferred as eligibility.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the law school expert on academic advising for JD students and develop advising materials.
• Coordinate with offices such as Registrar, Student Affairs, Career and Professional Development, and Financial Aid.
• Lead Compass first-year advising sessions and organize advising activities each semester.
• Provide strategic counseling to improve academic skills and bar exam prep guidance.
• Develop understanding of JD student experience and participate in committees as assigned.
