Job summary

The IT Company in Knoxville seeks an IT Support Specialist to join the Reactive Services team. You will handle ticket-based, reactive support while also flexing into other IT areas as needed, documenting work, and using AI tools to streamline tasks.

Responsibilities include responding to requests via phone/email/Teams, troubleshooting across Windows/macOS, networks, and Microsoft 365, and ensuring issues are resolved with clear client communication.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with computers, networks, or technology.
• Ability to figure things out and persist until resolved.
• Comfort with AI tools to research, troubleshoot, or automate work.
• Explain technical issues in plain language to clients.
• Own queue and follow up until issues are resolved.
• Document work clearly for knowledge sharing.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on technical support as the primary contact for reactive service desk work.
• Respond to support requests via phone, email, Teams or ticketing system and drive to resolution.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues and know when to escalate.
• Dig into unfamiliar problems, research, test, and ask questions to find root cause.
• Understand what changes affect and reason before acting.
• Support Windows and macOS environments, basic networking, and Microsoft 365 administration.
• Use AI tools and automation to work faster and smarter.
• Flex into other IT areas as needed (projects, security, networking).
• Document work and communicate progress to clients and teammates.
• Build relationships with engineers and learn from them.
• Identify recurring problems and advocate root-cause fixes.
