The NYISO is seeking a Software Engineering Co-Op to develop a replacement for an existing file-integration application in Albany, NY. You will work under an established design, participate in the full software delivery lifecycle, and collaborate with technical and business stakeholders.

You will gain ownership of a production-oriented solution, applying NYISO development standards, source control, and AI-assisted tools as available, while ensuring quality through testing and documentation.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in CS or Software Engineering.
• Rising junior or senior standing.
• Foundational programming and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to learn unfamiliar code, systems, and processes.
• Clear communication and collaboration with partners.

Responsabilités

• Review the current application’s purpose, workflows, dependencies, and technical design.
• Confirm requirements with technical and business stakeholders.
• Translate the approved design into user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Develop the replacement application following NYISO standards and security practices.
• Collaborate with database, infrastructure, software engineering, QA, and business partners.
• Automate tests and create documentation for technical and operational use.
