Job summary

The Howard Hughes Corporation is seeking an IT Security Engineer to protect our IT infrastructure across on‑prem and cloud environments. You will partner with IT, GRC, and security teams to implement controls, respond to threats, and support risk management.

Responsibilities include monitoring with EDR/SIEM, conducting investigations, coordinating vulnerability remediation, and helping shape security strategy and dashboards. A hybrid work model is supported in Houston area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 3–5 years in IT security or cybersecurity.
• Experience with EDR, SIEM, vulnerability management tools, and enterprise security tech.
• Hands-on security for cloud infrastructure, esp. Azure and AWS.
• Industry certs such as CISSP, CEH, CISM, CySA+ are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor networks and endpoints for security incidents using EDR and SIEM.
• Lead incident response activities including containment and recovery.
• Perform vulnerability assessments and coordinate remediation with owners.
• Support security architecture, roadmaps, and secure SDLC practices.
• Create dashboards and reports to track risk and compliance.
