Job summary

Auto-Owners Insurance is seeking a motivated IT Performance Tester to join our team in Lansing, MI. The role collaborates with developers, analysts, project managers, architects, and HR to understand front‑end and back‑end functionality and to design effective performance tests.

It involves creating and maintaining automation scripts using tools like JMeter and NeoLoad, and interpreting results with monitoring platforms such as AppDynamics and Splunk.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, MIS, or equivalent.
• Foundational programming exposure (Java, Python, C, C++, HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
• Strong communication (written and verbal).
• Ability to learn new tools and manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret performance testing requests.
• Collaborate with developers, analysts, PMs, architects, and HR to understand system functionality.
• Review test plans and results; update test plans as needed.
• Design, develop, and maintain automation scripts for performance tests (e.g., JMeter, NeoLoad).
• Document test results using Confluence; monitor using AppDynamics and Splunk.
