Job summary

The Cuyahoga County Board of Developmental Disabilities is seeking a Networking Engineer to support its distributed network, including datacenter, wireless, and security measures. The role covers WAN/LAN management, security design, virtualization, and disaster recovery planning.

The position operates on a HYBRID schedule (three days in-office, two at home) with responsibilities spanning implementation, documentation, and vendor coordination. Ohio-government benefits accompany the role.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in IT, CS or related, or 5 years equivalent work experience.
Experience in Windows environment/Cloud technologies.
Minimum Cisco CCNA certification.
Experience with VMware.
Experience with enterprise server monitoring and repair.
Proven LAN/WAN, VLAN, VoIP experience.
Valid Ohio driver's license and clean record.

Responsibilities

Manage and monitor WAN/LAN to ensure connectivity for client devices, servers, VPN and VoIP.
Troubleshoot hardware/software/network problems.
Install and monitor network hardware/software.
Design and implement enterprise security solutions.
Plan and maintain local/remote server infrastructure.
Document configurations, maintenance plans, and changes.
Develop disaster recovery plans and capacity planning.
Travel to other sites for service/inspection.
