Job summary

The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California is seeking an IT Network Engineer III at the downtown Los Angeles headquarters. You will design, maintain, and support our enterprise networks, emphasizing Cisco/Arista equipment and security platforms to enable mission-critical CIP initiatives.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s degree, 4+ years of experience in network operations across campus, data center, and cloud environments, plus CCNA or equivalent certs and a California driver’s

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field and four years of relevant experience.
• Certifications: CCNA or equivalent (Cisco, Palo Alto, Arista, or F5).
• License: Valid California Class C Driver’s License (required at time of application).

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the design of network systems and provide ongoing support for enterprise network infrastructure.
• Track, monitor, and troubleshoot network hardware and software.
• Perform network configuration, upgrades, and testing.
• Analyze service requests and provide customer assistance and technical solutions.
• Perform network research and development to support system improvements.
• Design, maintain, and support network infrastructure including Cisco/Arista routers, switches, VLANs, firewall policies, VPN, and NAT.
• Support campus, data center, and cloud network environments.
