Charles River Laboratories is seeking an IT Internal Audit Intern for Summer 2027 to support SOX testing and gain hands-on experience in a corporate audit environment.

As a member of the Internal Audit team, you will help evaluate controls, document workpapers, and communicate observations while collaborating with colleagues across locations. The role offers growth in audit, risk management, and business process knowledge in a global organization.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited college pursuing a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Business, or a related field.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the planning, preparation, and execution of Sarbanes‑Oxley (SOX) compliance testing under the guidance of Internal Audit professionals.
• Evaluate the design and effectiveness of internal controls through inquiry, observation, and testing procedures.
• Prepare and maintain audit workpapers in accordance with established audit standards and methodologies.
• Collaborate with employees and business partners across domestic and international locations.
• Participate in interviews with process and control owners to gain an understanding of key business processes and controls.
• Assess compliance with company policies, standard operating procedures, regulatory requirements, and applicable laws.
• Document audit observations and assist in developing practical recommendations for process and control improvements.
• Contribute to the preparation of periodic status reports and testing updates for management.
