Job summary

Erias Ventures, LLC in San Antonio, TX seeks an Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) to design and secure multi-enclave DoD-focused systems. The role covers RMF compliance, STIG/SRG guidance, and vulnerability management within a hybrid schedule.

The ISSE will author accreditation evidence, assess risks, and work with developers, security teams, and government partners to strengthen the security posture and ensure compliance with DoD requirements.

Qualifications

• Nine+ years of ISSE or security-focused engineering experience.
• Experience implementing DoD RMF processes (DIACAP acceptable; RMF preferred).
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, computer architectures and networks.
• Understanding of NIST SP 800-53 and control inheritance.
• DoD 8140 with IAT Level II certification (SSCP, Security+, CCNA-Security, or GSEC).
• Experience with DISA STIGs/SRGs, vulnerabilities, and scanning tools.
• Able to work independently and in a team within a hybrid schedule.
• Familiarity with RMF tools like eMASS and Xacta.
• Willingness to work 1–2 days per week at the San Antonio office.

Responsibilities

• Create, review, and edit authorization docs per DoD policy.
• Implement RMF system accreditation processes.
• Assess risk of open source and COTS/GOTS components.
• Use vulnerability management and automated scanning tools.
• Collaborate with diverse audiences for data gathering.
• Interpret DISA STIGs and SRGs.
• Establish defensible security processes where none exist.
• Provide security planning, risk analysis, and risk management support.
• Recommend system-level security solutions to developers.
• Support trusted relationships among external systems.
• Apply IA policy to design secure networks and enclaves.
• Interact well with others to complete work.
• Other duties as assigned.
