Job summary

Stinson LLP in Clayton, MO is seeking a Paralegal Assistant to support IP litigation attorneys by managing client files and coordinating matter intake through close. The role requires completing an ABA-approved Paralegal program or equivalent, or 2–5 years of law-related experience, plus strong organizational and communication skills.

You will track deadlines, prepare exhibits, filings, and assist with depositions and trials.

Qualifications

• Completion of one of the following: (a) Associate of Arts degree, (b) an ABA-approved Paralegal program, with at least one year of in-house training, OR (c) two to five years of law-related experience under supervision.
• Law Firm experience preferred; Litigation filing and case management experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with USPTO filings, intellectual property litigation and/or federal court practice and procedure.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate file intake and matter entry in tracking system for new clients.
• Participate in the life cycle of multiple cases from inception to close.
• Monitor deadlines and coordinate with attorneys to calendar milestones and deadlines.
• Implement deadline monitoring with advance warnings and escalation procedures.
• Manage calendar conflicts and reschedule as needed.
• Generate regular deadline reports and case status summaries.
• Organize all documents and databases for each litigated matter.
• Provide information for litigation processes to attorneys and clients.
• Prepare and organize exhibits for filing, depositions, hearings and trials.
• Attend depositions, hearings and trials; file court documents.
• Meet billable hour requirement of 1200 per year.
• Assist in Firm marketing for the practice area.
• Other duties as assigned.
