Job summary

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona seeks a Manager, Investment Accounting Reporting to lead monthly close, statutory and GAAP reporting, and NAIC schedules within a regulated environment.

You will ensure accurate accounting data, strengthen internal controls, and support audits while communicating results to senior finance leadership. The role is hybrid in Arizona, with two onsite days per week and flexibility for essential collaboration.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of accounting/finance experience including investment accounting and regulatory reporting.
• Demonstrated people leadership experience, coaching employees, reviewing work, and managing accountability for deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Manage monthly investment accounting close activities and related reporting.
• Oversee statutory, GAAP, and NAIC investment schedules, footnotes, regulatory reporting, and management reporting.
• Ensure investment accounting data is accurate and well documented.
• Maintain knowledge of insurance investment accounting concepts and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor statutory, NAIC, regulatory, and policy requirements affecting investment accounting.
• Support audits by coordinating requests and ensuring timely responses.
• Strengthen internal controls over investment accounting and close activities.
• Maintain up-to-date process documentation reflecting changes.
• Prepare analyses and explanations of investment accounting results for leadership.
• Communicate results and risks clearly to finance partners and auditors.
• Lead remediation for audit findings and regulatory changes.
