Job summary

Wellabe is seeking an Investment Accountant 1 to join our team. This role handles routine investment accounting duties and day-to-day cash management with a focus on accuracy and internal controls.

Responsibilities include reconciling balances, preparing journal entries, and supporting NAIC reporting. A Bachelor’s degree and internship experience are valued, with opportunities to grow through education and project work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field; combination of education and/or relevant work experience may be accepted.
• Pursuit of CPA, MBA, or CFA is a plus.
• Internship or prior experience in investment accounting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine investment accounting activities and day-to-day cash management following established policies and procedures.
• Complete daily and monthly accounting including reconciling investments and banking balances to the general ledger and preparing journal entries.
• Assist with regulatory reporting for investments (NAIC annual and quarterly statements and related analyses).
• Assist in the management of day-to-day external third-party investment accounting and banking relationships.
• Identify, participate and drive procedural changes and process improvements.
• Coordinate tasks for external auditors and state examinations.
• Collaborate with teams to automate investment accounting and banking functions.
