Job summary

Delta Galil USA, Inc. is seeking an experienced Inventory Accountant to join our Finance team in a hybrid role with four days in the Montoursville office.

You will ensure inventory accounting accuracy, support month-end close, and partner with cross-functional teams to maintain reporting integrity. The ideal candidate will be analytical, detail-oriented, and adept at driving process improvements, working with Accounting, Supply Chain, Operations, and Production to strengthen internal controls

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with significant inventory accounting.
• Experience with inventory valuation methods such as FIFO and standard costing.
• Experience working within an ERP system, preferably SAP.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP.

Responsibilities

• Prepare inventory-related journal entries and participate in month-, quarter-, and year-end closes.
• Reconcile inventory subledger to GL and investigate discrepancies for timely resolution.
• Analyze inventory transactions and monitor variances (purchase price, write-offs, shrinkage, obsolescence).
• Prepare and maintain inventory reserve calculations (excess and obsolete inventory).
• Support physical inventory counts and cycle counts with analyses and adjustments.
• Review inventory movement and costing for accurate valuation and COGS.
• Partner with Supply Chain, Operations, Distribution, and Purchasing to ensure timely, accurate recording of transactions.
• Assist with inventory accounting for new products, transfers, returns, and adjustments.
• Maintain and improve internal controls related to inventory accounting and management processes.
• Prepare schedules/documentation for internal and external audits.
• Analyze inventory trends and provide financial insights for decisions.
• Identify opportunities to improve inventory accounting processes, reporting, and efficiencies.
