Your Talent Team is seeking a Mid-Level International Trade Associate Attorney to join the International Trade Practice Group in Washington, D.C. This role focuses on U.S. export controls, tariffs, customs law, and CFIUS reviews within a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will hold a DC Bar license, have 2–3+ years of trade law experience, and demonstrate strong research, writing, and communication skills.

Qualifications

• JD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic record.
• Active Bar Admission in the District of Columbia, in good standing.
• 2+ years of substantive experience in international trade law.
• Fluency in Mandarin Chinese is a plus.
• Experience in BIS/DDTC or Customs law is preferred.
• Experience with OFAC sanctions and trade remedy investigations is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Advise clients on U.S. export controls, customs law, tariffs, sanctions, and CFIUS reviews.
• Assist clients with compliance requirements administered by BIS, DDTC, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, and OFAC.
• Analyze customs matters involving entry, tariff classification, valuation, and related requirements.
• Support matters under antidumping, countervailing duty, and safeguard laws.
• Conduct legal/regulatory research and provide clear guidance on complex international trade issues.
• Draft memoranda, submissions, and client communications; collaborate across practices.
