Job summary

Orionplacement seeks an Arizona-licensed attorney with 3+ years of attorney experience and at least 1 year in insurance defense to join its Phoenix team in a hybrid role. You will handle insurance defense matters from evaluation to resolution, developing strategy and managing exposure for real cases.

You will draft pleadings, conduct depositions, participate in hearings and mediations, and communicate case strategy to clients while enjoying a supportive team and flexible hybrid schedule.

Qualifications

• Active Arizona Bar license in good standing.
• 3+ years of attorney experience.
• 1+ year of insurance defense litigation experience.
• Strong legal writing, research, case management, and litigation skills.
• Excellent communication, judgment, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid Phoenix environment.

Responsibilities

• Handle insurance defense litigation matters from initial evaluation through resolution.
• Develop litigation strategy and evaluate liability, damages, and potential exposure.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, briefs, and other litigation documents.
• Conduct and defend depositions and participate in hearings, mediations, and settlement negotiations.
• Communicate directly with clients regarding case strategy, developments, and recommended next steps.
• Manage discovery, deadlines, experts, and an active litigation caseload.
• Work collaboratively with partners, attorneys, and support professionals on complex defense matters.
• Assist with trial preparation and take on increasing courtroom responsibility based on experience.
