Job summary

Actalent seeks an Ignition SCADA Controls Engineer to design and develop Ignition-based SCADA/HMI for BMS and EMP. You will configure gateways, dashboards, alarms, and trends, and integrate with PLCs and industrial protocols to support HVAC and data center operations.

The role involves remote commissioning, hybrid work, and collaboration with engineering teams to deliver scalable, reliable control solutions.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Ignition for SCADA and HMI development.
• Experience configuring Ignition gateways, projects, and modules.
• Experience integrating control systems with PLCs (Allen-Bradley).
• Knowledge of BACnet and Modbus protocols.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop Ignition-based SCADA and HMI systems for BMS/EMP.
• Build and configure dashboards, graphics, and UIs for HVAC and facility ops.
• Develop system architecture: tag structures, alarms, trends, navigation.
• Configure Ignition gateways, projects, and modules for reliability and security.
• Set up network communication between field devices, controllers, and servers.
• Integrate control systems with PLCs and industrial protocols BACnet/Modbus.
• Support data collection, visualization, and reporting of energy usage.
• Collaborate with internal engineering teams on design, deployment, troubleshooting.
• Assist with remote commissioning and system validation.
• Ensure scalable, standardized, user-friendly solutions for operators.
• Contribute to controls engineering for HVAC, chillers, data centers.
• Apply automation skills including Allen-Bradley PLCs for robust control strategies.
