Job summary

The Houston-based Instrumentation and Control Engineer will design, specify, and integrate control systems for diverse projects, including P&IDs and control philosophies. Daily tasks include developing design documents, selecting instruments, coordinating with engineers and construction

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, Instrumentation, or closely related discipline.
• Experience in Process Control and Instrumentation for municipal and industrial applications.
• Familiarity with PLCs, SCADA systems, and industrial communication protocols.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical writing skills.
• Licensure as Professional Engineer (PE) preferred; water/wastewater or industrial facilities experience beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Design, specify, and integrate instrumentation and control systems for water, wastewater, industrial, and infrastructure projects.
• Develop P&IDs, control philosophies, and I/O lists; prepare control system design documents.
• Support PLC/SCADA configurations, control logic reviews, testing, startup, and commissioning.
• Coordinate with electrical engineers, project managers, and construction teams; respond to RFIs.
• Contribute to project schedules, costs estimates, and technical reports.
