Job summary

Eli Lilly and Company in Silicon Valley is seeking an HPC Systems Administrator to design, deploy, and operate scalable AI and HPC platforms enabling ML workflows from training to inference. The role partners with AI scientists, engineers, and infrastructure teams to deliver reliable, secure compute across multi-GPU environments.

You will advance automation and monitoring, balance performance and cost, and adapt to evolving GPU technologies while supporting collaboration across research groups

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field and 5+ years of experience deploying, administering, or supporting large-scale HPC, GPU, or distributed computing environments.
• Experience building, administering, and optimizing large-scale HPC, GPU, or AI/ML computing environments with job scheduling and resource management.
• Strong scripting, automation, and infrastructure-as-code practice, plus familiarity with cloud and on-prem environments.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate scalable AI and HPC platforms for model training, inference, and experimentation across GPU, cloud, and on-prem environments.
• Partner with AI scientists, engineers and domain experts to enable efficient workflows and reliable systems.
• Drive automation, standardization, monitoring, and continuous improvement across infrastructure.
• Collaborate across research, engineering, and infrastructure teams to translate capabilities into business value.
