Job summary

The Highway Design Project Engineer will contribute to innovative highway design, collaborate with senior staff, and help deliver high-quality transportation solutions from Dover or New Castle, DE, with a hybrid work schedule.

The role requires 3–6 years of highway design experience, an EI license, and familiarity with state and federal guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• 3-6 years of highway design experience.
• EI license required; PE license preferred.
• Familiarity with state and federal highway design regulations.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Execute transportation and highway design tasks following applicable criteria and standards.
• Apply transportation engineering principles to roadway geometry, pavement design, traffic control, and drainage.
• Prepare engineering documents for advertisement and construction; assist in cost estimates.
• Collaborate with project teams, clients, and regulatory agencies to deliver highway design solutions.
• Ensure designs meet regulations and client specifications; identify and solve design issues.
