Job summary

The Johns Hopkins University Librarian II/Informationist II will provide and grow deeply embedded library services, working alongside faculty, staff, fellows, residents, and students in the Schools of Medicine, Public Health, Nursing, and the Johns Hopkins Health System.

The role emphasizes establishing partnerships with user communities, exploring AI and scholarly tools, and advancing research through expert information management and professional collaboration.

Qualifications

• MLS or equivalent degree in library science.
• Three years of related experience required.
• Additional education may substitute for required experience.
• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills; growth mindset and commitment to excellence.

Responsibilities

• Assist staff and patrons with non-routine questions and resolve inquiries.
• Support a wide range of library services and workflows.
• Lead or participate in collaborative department projects and coordinate completion of assigned work.
• Train and mentor new librarians and staff.
• Represent Johns Hopkins libraries in public forums, meetings, and conferences.
• Develop professional relationships and engage in networking and scholarly activities.
• Advance the mission through service to department, institution, and profession.
• Establish strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
