Job summary

Mercer seeks an experienced Senior Principal Lead Health Actuary Consultant to join our Actuarial and Financial Consulting teams. This hybrid role requires a minimum of three days in the office and can be located at any Mercer US office.

You will manage client engagements on health benefits strategies, provide financial projections, plan design optimization, renewal negotiations, and guide analysts. Strong leadership and actuarial credentials are essential.

Qualifications

• 15+ years’ experience in actuarial field, consulting experience preferred.
• BA/BS degree in actuarial science, math, statistics, finance, economics or related field required.
• ASA/FSA credential required.

Responsibilities

• Lead routine client engagements, including managing overall service delivery, strategy, financial evaluations, plan design, renewal, and benchmarking.
• Review data analyses conducted by junior staff to ensure actuarial soundness and assist in staff development.
• Thrive in an environment embracing AI and technology-enabled tools.
• Perform and review complex analyses and cost projections using Excel, SAS, and pricing models.
