Job summary

Mashgin is seeking a Hardware Validation Engineer to validate custom hardware platforms and checkout systems. You'll work with senior engineers on validation plans, build test setups, troubleshoot issues, and document results.

The role covers component and system-level testing across compute platforms, cameras, USB devices, power systems, networking, and peripherals. Hybrid onsite in San Jose, CA is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 2+ years in hardware validation or test engineering.
• Hands-on testing and troubleshooting of electrical/computer hardware.
• Ability to read datasheets, specs, and basic schematics.
• Experience with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters).
• Basic programming or scripting (Python).
• Comfort with Windows and/or Linux.
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Execute functional, performance, stress, thermal, and reliability validation tests.
• Build and maintain hardware test setups and automated tools.
• Develop Python or similar scripts for test automation and data collection.
• Troubleshoot hardware and hardware/software integration issues.
• Review datasheets and schematics to understand test requirements.
• Document test procedures, results, and validation reports.
