Job summary

Mashgin seeks an Electrical Engineer to drive hardware evolution across platforms, sensors, and peripherals. You’ll own power architecture, system bring-up, and cross-functional communication to manage timelines and milestones with a hands-on, fast-paced approach.

You will work on camera and vision hardware, collaborate with CV teams, and bring prototypes through EVT to mass production, with hybrid onsite presence in San Jose, CA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in electrical/hardware engineering.
• Proficiency with Altium, Cadence OrCAD/Allegro, PADS and SPICE.
• Understanding of electrical design principles, circuit analysis, and manufacturing processes.
• Experience in failure analysis (NDT/Destructive).
• Experience with PCB/FPC/RFPC design, releases, testing, bring-up and debugging.
• Hands-on EE lab experience with soldering, oscilloscopes, high-speed test equipment, logic analyzers and generators.
• Ability to read and code in C/C++ for embedded systems.
• Familiarity with BOM/PLM processes (e.g., Agile, Aligni).
• Travel ~2x annually for overseas builds.
• Travel ~2x annually for domestic hardware installations.

Responsibilities

• Architect system-level electrical designs including platforms, cameras, sensors and peripherals.
• Own system power architecture: distribution, sequencing, budgeting, and thermal considerations.
• Lead hardware bring-up, debugging and cross-disciplinary validation.
• Collaborate with computer vision teams to optimize camera performance from hardware.
• Support camera subsystem development: sensor selection and calibration.
• Design and integrate systems using USB, PCIe, Ethernet, I2C, SPI, UART and GPIO.
• Rapidly prototype new architectures and concepts for evaluation.
• Drive product development from prototype to EVT, DVT, PVT and mass production.
• Coordinate with global suppliers and manufacturing partners for scalable hardware.
