Lam Research in the San Francisco Bay Area is seeking a Hardware Designer 1 to translate engineering concepts into manufacturable mechanical designs for next‑generation semiconductor equipment. You will create precise parts, develop layouts, and collaborate across Product Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain to deliver cost‑effective solutions.

Candidates typically hold a bachelor’s or associate degree in design or engineering with 3+ years of experience, and are proficient in 3D CAD

Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Design/Engineering or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of experience; or advanced degree with no experience.
  • Strong 3D CAD skills and PLM experience.
  • Solid grasp of sheet metal design, coatings, and processes.
  • Knowledge of welding symbols, GD&T, and ASME drafting standards.
  • Experience with large assemblies and concurrent engineering.
  • Proficiency in MS Office 365 and collaboration tools.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop precise mechanical parts and subassemblies and create layouts per standards.
  • Document and release drawings and BOMs through PLM systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define design and cost requirements.
  • Create 3D electrical and pneumatic harness routing using CAD.
