Job summary

Southern California Edison (SCE) is seeking a Grid Management Developer and Historian Specialist to maintain critical applications, including the AVEVA PI Historian, across the electric grid. You will support situational awareness, analytics, and real-time operations for the distribution system.

You will translate business needs into operational designs, develop PI analytics and reporting, and collaborate with clients, IT teams, and vendors to ensure reliable grid data and cybersecurity

Qualifications

• Three or more years of experience in designing, building, implementing, maintaining, and supporting complex utility, real-time or enterprise systems.
• Experience implementing AVEVA PI Systems, including its architecture and change management process.
• Development and scripting experience with shell scripts, .NET, and C#
• Experience with SCADA systems.
• Background in data analysis and report development.
• Experience with SQL.

Responsibilities

• Provides operations support, troubleshooting, integration testing and user training.
• Monitors and analyzes energy usage data to identify trends and opportunities for optimization.
• Supports the testing and implementation of new grid application releases.
• Identifies trends and root causes of issues, determines solutions, and makes recommendations for management consideration.
• Updates and maintains reliability of the grid application and related control apps.
• Configures and modifies grid application databases and ensures telemetry and controls are accurate.
• Provides engineering support to grid operations by resolving complex issues with new technologies.
• Maintains project KPIs and supports real-time operations through power system modeling and analyses.
• Ensures protection of physical, financial and cybersecurity assets and proper data access.
