Southern California Edison is seeking a Power Systems Advanced Applications Engineer 3 to maintain and enhance real-time power system models and advanced applications. You will investigate complex issues, coordinate with Grid Operations and partners, and support implementation and testing of new capabilities to improve grid reliability and resilience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a scientific/technical/math field.
• Five or more years of engineering experience in operations, production, construction or maintenance environments.
• Possess a valid Class C Driver's License.
• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
• Experience with EMS/SCADA or other real-time utility control systems (preferred).
• Experience with advanced power system applications (State Estimator, RTCA, Network Topology Processing).
• Experience supporting testing, upgrades, and modernization initiatives (preferred).
• Strong communication, collaboration, and technical leadership skills (preferred).

Responsabilités

• Resolves technical issues in a timely, efficient and cost-effective manner.
• Leads and coordinates work with full-time and contract employees in new technical strategies.
• Conducts life cycle assessments for utility infrastructure materials and processes.
• Performs risk assessments and implements risk mitigation strategies.
• Supports audits and inspections and ensures environmental, health, and safety compliance.
• Provides engineering guidance for high-impact, cross-functional problems.
• Ensures design basis documentation is maintained and coordinates high-impact projects.
• Provides training to junior engineers.
• Protects sensitive data and cybersecurity assets with high integrity standards.
