The University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus is seeking an Open Rank Grants Specialist to support the General Internal Medicine grants team. The role partners with research faculty to handle pre-award and post-award activities, including complex multi-year budgets and compliance across federal and industry sponsors.

The position offers full-time employment with a hybrid schedule, enabling two days per week on campus and in-person meetings as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in public health, public administration, social/behavioral sciences, healthcare administration, finance, accounting, business administration, business, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
• Two (2) years of professional grant management work (Senior Level) or one (1) year (Intermediate Level) as described in the postings.
• An advanced degree may substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis if degree is in a field directly related to work assignment.

Responsibilities

• Advise faculty on pre-award submission process, requirements, timeline and deadlines for grant submission.
• Create complex multi-year budgets for federal, state, foundation and industry sponsors; draft budget justification templates and supporting documentation; route proposals through OGC.
• Review sponsor requirements to ensure compliance with federal, state, board policies; communicate deadlines to OGC.
• Manage full post-award lifecycle including award notices, account setup, modifications, carryforwards, no-cost extensions, prior approvals and ongoing administration.
• Perform financial oversight and reconciliation of sponsored projects; ensure expenditures and payroll distributions are accurate and compliant.
• Monitor budgets, prepare forecasts and financial reports; provide investigators and leadership with actionable financial information.
