Job summary

Impact Justice seeks a grant writer to lead the majority of proposals, from drafting to submission, reporting, and funder relations. You will own the grants calendar and work with program staff to align funder narratives with IJ priorities.

The role supports collaboration across teams, uses tools like Instrumentl/iWave, and requires strong writing and organizational skills. Hybrid schedule with in-office days applies; located in DC, Oakland, or LA.

Qualifications

• 1–3+ years of grant writing experience in nonprofit fundraising.
• Exceptional, confident writing skills to draft funder-aligned copy.
• Strong organizational and project management abilities across multiple proposals.
• Working knowledge of institutional fundraising practices (prospect research, proposals, funder relations).
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with program staff.

Responsibilities

• Draft, edit, and submit the majority of grant proposals and funder communications.
• Own and manage the organization's grants calendar across 5+ program teams.
• Support grant reporting and funder relationships as needed.
• Research new institutional funding opportunities and assess fit with IJ’s priorities.
• Build partnerships with program teams to gather information for proposals.
• Refine proposal workflows and language library, including AI-assisted processes.
