Job summary

Westcliff University seeks an International Student Success Advisor (ISSA) to guide international students from enrollment through graduation. The ISSA blends academic advising with immigration guidance to promote persistence, cultural adjustment, and long-term success, while applying F-1 regulations and SEVIS knowledge.

Under the Directors of International Affairs and Student Affairs, the ISSA connects students with resources, collaborates across departments, and supports retention initiatives

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of U.S. F-1 visa regulations and SEVIS concepts.
• Excellent interpersonal, cross-cultural, and written communication skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive student cases with discretion and professionalism.
• Experience with student information or CRM systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance on academic progress, university policy, and immigration regulations for maintaining F-1 status.
• Conduct individualized advising sessions on course selection and degree progress.
• Monitor student performance and intervene with personalized outreach when needed.
• Assist with CPT, OPT, STEM OPT processes and SEVIS updates when required.
• Collaborate with faculty and Registrar to align academic progress with immigration requirements.
• Lead or support workshops and orientations for student engagement and retention.
