Job summary

Arch Capital offers a master’s-level internship in macroeconomic research within the insurance industry. You will work with the Chief Economist team on data analysis, forecasting, and briefing materials, gaining hands-on experience across U.S. and global markets.

The role is hybrid (2 days onsite, 3 days remote) in Washington, DC or Greensboro, NC, with an hourly rate of $28. Aiming for graduates with a 3.0+ GPA and strong quantitative, programming, and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Economics or related program with strong quantitative focus.
• GPA 3.0 or higher.
• Graduate student with graduation between Dec 2027 and May 2028.
• Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint for presenting data.
• Experience with statistical software and basic programming concepts.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to U.S. and global economic outlook through research and data analysis.
• Support econometric modeling, data prep, testing, and forecasting model maintenance.
• Prepare briefing notes and presentations for internal and external audiences.
• Assist in analyzing economic trends and synthesize implications for business strategy.
• Create research notes and visual content, and monitor macroeconomic developments.
