Arch Capital Group Ltd. offers a paid internship in a hybrid setup (Washington, DC or Greensboro, NC). You will assist the Chief Economist with research, data analysis, and forecasting model maintenance, and prepare briefing notes and presentations for internal and external audiences.

Ideal candidates are masters students in Economics or related fields with a 3.0+ GPA, strong Excel/PowerPoint, and experience in Python/R. The program emphasizes hands-on learning, feedback, and collaboration.

Formación

• Actively completing a master’s degree in Economics, International Finance, or related program.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA or higher.
• Graduate student with graduation dates between December 2027 and May 2028.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills, especially in Excel and PowerPoint, for presenting data effectively.
• Proficiency with statistical software (e.g., EViews, Python, R) and basic programming concepts.
• Experience applying Claude Code or GitHub CoPilot strongly preferred.
• Interest in global macroeconomic research, focusing on developed markets.
• Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to deliver strong presentations.
• Detail-oriented self-starter, able to synthesize data and clearly articulate conclusions.

Responsabilidades

• Contribute to the U.S. and global economic outlook by assisting with research, data analysis, and scenario design.
• Support econometric modeling projects, including data preparation, testing, and maintenance of forecasting models.

• Contribute to written and visual content, including research notes, presentations, and rapid reactions to economic events.

About This Internship

Location & Work Arrangement

The program dates are June 2, 2027 – August 6, 2027. This position is classified as a hybrid position. You will work 2 days onsite and 3 days from home. This position can be located in Washington, D.C. or Greensboro, NC. Relocation and housing assistance is not provided for this role.

Pay

For individuals assigned to or hired to work in Washington D.C. and Greensboro, NC, the hourly rate is $28 as of the time of posting. The breadth in the range exists to accommodate students in specialized programs such as actuarial candidates and graduate students. Any actual rate offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, along with the education & qualifications of the candidate. The above range may be modified in the future. Intern position is eligible for select Arch benefits.
