BrainWorks is seeking an Accounting GL Manager for our Greater Phoenix region, offering a hybrid work arrangement. You will lead GL operations, ensure GAAP compliance, and drive internal controls while collaborating across teams.

The role demands strong technical accounting skills and leadership for a multi-entity environment. The ideal candidate will oversee journal entries, reconciliations, and close processes, support audits, and contribute to process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
• Seven to ten years of progressive accounting experience required.
• Previous supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.
• Experience in a multi-entity organization preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, general ledger accounting, financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Experience with fixed assets, banking reconciliations, and internal controls.
• CPA or MBA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee general ledger activities, journal entries, account reconciliations, and monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Ensure the accuracy of financial statements, balance sheet accounts, and the chart of accounts.
• Partner with Treasury on cash positioning, bank reconciliations, and banking-related accounting activities.
• Manage fixed asset accounting, accruals, intercompany transactions, and financial analysis.
• Review financial results, investigate variances, and recommend process improvements.
• Support budgeting, internal controls, compliance reviews, and internal and external audits.
• Maintain accurate financial documentation and ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies.
• Lead and support accounting team members, manage competing priorities, and ensure deadlines are met.
• Collaborate cross-functionally on accounting initiatives, reporting requests, and special projects.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
