Job summary

Johnson County Community College in Overland Park, KS, seeks a German adjunct professor to teach Elementary and Intermediate German. The position offers a hybrid schedule with day or evening classes, including live online via Zoom, across summer, spring, or fall semesters.

The candidate will teach 5-10 credit hours as needed and collaborate with full-time and adjunct faculty in the Foreign Language Department within the Communications Division.

Qualifications

• M.A. degree in German or MA in related discipline with at least 18 hours of graduate work in German.
• Demonstrated ability to teach Elementary and Intermediate German courses.
• Demonstrated knowledge of using technology in the classroom.
• Demonstrated ability to teach online using Zoom.

Responsibilities

• Provide extra and co-curricular opportunities for German language students.
• Participate in planning and administration of departmental initiatives.
• Participate in on-campus events promoting languages.
• Complete ACTFL and/or other departmental training.
• Incomplete applications will not be considered.
• Candidates will be interviewed and asked to demonstrate a 30-minute class in person or on Zoom.
