Job summary

Geotechnical Engineering Services, P.C. (GES) is seeking a full‑time Geotechnical Engineer to work in the NYC metro area with field presence on construction sites and remote work when not in the field. The role involves field reporting, design of excavation support, and collaboration with project teams.

Responsibilities include site investigations, reports, and foundation design for various projects. A PE license is a plus, and travel locally is expected.

Qualifications

• Ability to work in the field on construction sites.
• Strong knowledge of soil mechanics and geotechnical engineering principles.
• Experience with site investigation and subsurface data collection.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Daily Field Reports.
• Design of SOE, excavation support, underpinning; AutoCAD drafting of SOE drawings.
• Analyze retaining walls; perform site visits, calculations, sketches, reports on wall safety.
• Conduct special inspections of piles, SOE, underpinning, excavation, backfilling.
• Collaborate with design teams, engineers and clients on project needs.
• Write Geotechnical Investigation reports.
• Inspect borings, DCP probes, and test pits.
• Foundation design for piles, SOE walls and retaining walls.
• Analyze field data with calculations and modeling using software.
