Job summary

GFT is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to join our Geotechnical, Dams & Hydraulics team in either New York, NY or Woodbury, NY. This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance at our office.

The successful candidate will lead analyses for foundations, slope stability, and groundwater studies, and will prepare reports, drawings, and specifications. A NY P.E. license or ability to obtain within 6 months is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering required.
• 4-8 years geotechnical experience with subsurface exploration and/or design.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
• Excellent field observation and data collection/documentation skills.
• Must be able to work outdoors in all seasons.
• Must have current Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Lead geotechnical analysis and design for foundations, slope stability, and seepage studies.
• Prepare reports, drawings, and specifications.
• Plan subsurface explorations and laboratory testing.
• Conduct subsurface investigations and site reconnaissance.
• Assist in geotechnical and cost proposals.
• Provide construction observation support during construction.
