Wilson Elser is seeking a General Liability / Transportation Litigation Attorney for our Los Angeles or Orange County office. Open to Associate or Senior Attorney level with 3+ years of litigation experience, hybrid work arrangement offered, and a path to growing management of complex defense matters.

The ideal candidate will handle sophisticated civil defense matters across liability, trucking, auto defense, and related areas, with strong writing and analytical skills and the ability to manage

Qualifications

• 3+ years of litigation experience required.
• Defense litigation experience strongly preferred.
• Experience in general liability, transportation, premises liability, or related civil defense matters welcome.
• Experience drafting discovery, pleadings, dispositive motions, and pretrial motions required.
• Trial or second-chair trial experience is a plus.
• Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Responsibilities

• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, and other legal documents.
• Handle court appearances, depositions, mediations, and other litigation events.
• Manage a litigation caseload as part of a collaborative team.
• Develop case strategy, evaluate liability and damages, and work toward efficient resolution.
• Communicate with clients, carriers, experts, opposing counsel, and witnesses.
• Prepare status reports and client-facing updates.
• Collaborate with attorneys across offices and practice areas.
• For senior candidates, independently manage complex matters and mentor juniors.
