Job summary

TC Energy in Houston is seeking an Operations Planning Engineer to apply engineering principles to ensure efficient operation of natural gas pipelines and storage systems, under guidance from senior engineers.

Reporting to the Manager of Operations Planning West, you will collaborate with Gas Control and other stakeholders, run hydraulic models, analyze capacity and constraints, and help develop operating procedures and data tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering from ABET-accredited university.
• 2-4 years of related engineering experience.
• Experience with fluid flow simulation tools (e.g., DNV Synergi Gas, Gregg Engineering, or similar).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Gas Control, Operations and other stakeholders to ensure efficient daily operations across multiple pipeline segments with varying requirements.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and customers to plan, execute, and communicate maintenance and project activities impacting pipeline operations.
• Utilize hydraulic pipeline simulation models to evaluate pipeline capacity and determine pipeline constraints.
• Utilize hydraulic pipeline simulation models, historical data, and operational experience to provide input for project design and execution.
• Work with other engineers and stakeholders to develop operational modes and procedures.
• Combine commercial data, stakeholder inputs, and technical data to analyze risk and identify critical facilities.
