Job summary

The Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services, Division of Finance, is seeking a GAAP Accountant to perform accounting and financial activities leading up to the annual GAAP reporting process.

You will prepare monthly and quarterly reports and reconciliations, working with IOC and internal/external auditors as needed. Requires a bachelor’s in accounting and at least 2 years GAAP experience; CPA and SAMS/SAP knowledge preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting (or other with at least 18 credit hours in accounting)
• Two (2) years of experience preparing complete financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow) in accordance with GAAP

Responsibilities

• Performs broad range of accounting and financial activities leading up to GAAP reporting
• Prepares monthly, quarterly and other financial reports and reconciliations for IOC and internal use
• Completes GAAP financial reporting forms (computerized and manual) for annual GAAP or other reporting
• Works with auditors and other parties to explain records and GAAP packages
• Performs other duties within scope of duties enumerated
