Job summary

Next Smile + Implant in Thousand Oaks, CA seeks a detail-oriented Front Office Team Member with chairside assisting experience. You will welcome patients, coordinate treatments, and assist clinically when needed in a hybrid role.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of dental front office experience, is proficient in Open Dental, and can handle insurance coordination and patient communications with care.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of dental front office experience.
• Proficient in Open Dental (required).
• Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and insurance coordination.
• Strong communication and multitasking skills.
• Warm, professional, and team-oriented demeanor.
• X-ray license and DA or RDA certification (preferred but not required).

Responsibilities

• Assisting Duties: Assist the dentist during procedures, including implant and restorative treatments.
• Prepare, disinfect, and sterilize operatories and instruments.
• Take digital x-rays, intraoral scans, and photos when needed.
• Support lab case management and digital workflows.
• Provide post-op instructions and ensure patient comfort.
• Front Office Duties: Greet patients warmly and create a positive first impression.
• Schedule and confirm appointments in Open Dental.
• Verify insurance, collect copays, and prepare treatment estimates.
• Manage phone calls, emails, and recall/confirmation systems.
• Coordinate new patient intake, consent forms, and financial arrangements.
• Maintain accurate patient records and follow HIPAA protocols.
