Job summary

CRS, a Phoenix-based company, seeks a detail-oriented FP&A Analyst to support budgeting, forecasting, and business performance analysis in the temporary housing and insurance claims space.

The role partners with Finance, Operations, Claims, and Vendor Relations to translate data into insights, identify trends, and drive profitable growth while maintaining service quality for policyholders and partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum 1-2 years of experience in FP&A, financial analysis, corporate finance, accounting, or a related analytical role.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including financial modeling, pivot tables, lookup functions, and data analysis.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and management reporting.
• Strong and proven analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial and operational data.
• History of high attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy, data integrity, and meeting reporting deadlines.
• Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present financial findings to cross-functional stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development, preparation, and maintenance of annual budgets, financial plans, and rolling forecasts.
• Analyze actual financial results against budget, forecast, and prior-period performance, identifying variances, trends, and underlying business drivers.
• Develop financial models to evaluate revenue, operating expenses, gross margin, contribution margin, and profitability across business units, insurance carrier programs, and customer accounts.
• Support scenario planning and sensitivity analyses to evaluate changes in housing demand, claim volume, average length of stay, rental rates, and other key business assumptions.
• Prepare monthly financial reporting packages and management presentations that communicate performance, risks, and opportunities.
• Analyze financial performance associated with temporary housing placements resulting from covered property losses and insurance claims.
• Monitor key cost drivers, including nightly and monthly housing rates, length of stay, extensions, utilities, property management fees, furnishing costs, and other placement-related expenses.
• Evaluate revenue and cost trends associated with ALE claims and other applicable temporary housing arrangements.
• Assess placement-level and portfolio-level profitability, identifying opportunities to improve cost efficiency and financial outcomes.
• Analyze claim duration, placement volume, occupancy, housing utilization, and average cost per placement to identify operational and financial trends.
• Partner with Claims and Operations teams to understand the financial impact of claim complexity, placement delays, housing availability, and extended stays.
• Support financial analysis related to insurance carrier agreements, service fees, reimbursement structures, and contractual pricing arrangements.
• Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting tools that provide visibility into financial and operational performance.
• Track KPIs including revenue growth, gross margin, cost per housing placement, average cost per day, and occupancy.
• Identify performance trends and communicate findings to business stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Operations leaders to evaluate productivity and cost-saving opportunities.
