Title: Hybrid Foreclosure & Collections Paralegal (Permanent)
Location: Hybrid – remote and onsite flexibility
Salary: $60,000 – $85,000 per year
Our multi‑practice commercial law firm is seeking an experienced foreclosure & collections paralegal to join our legal team. This role offers the opportunity to work in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment and contribute to the firm’s success through legal knowledge and skills.
Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys in the preparation and filing of foreclosure pleadings, motions, and related documents.
- Conduct comprehensive document reviews to ensure legal compliance and accuracy.
- Generate stipulation settlements and prepare affirmative defenses in foreclosure cases.
- Maintain and update legal case management software for accurate and timely case tracking.
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel, providing excellent customer service and maintaining professional relationships.
- Draft and send foreclosure letters in accordance with the Fair Debt Collection Practice Act.
- Stay abreast of changes in the Florida Condominium Act and other relevant laws and regulations.
- Assist in trial preparation, including organization of exhibits, witness preparation, and trial strategies.
- Perform other related duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and commitment to the role.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of paralegal experience, with at least 2 years in foreclosure and collections.
- Expertise in the Fair Debt Collection Practice Act and the Florida Condominium Act.
- Proficiency in trial preparation, document review, and legal case management software.
- Track record of preparing affirmative defenses and generating stipulation settlements.
- Familiarity with foreclosure pleadings and mortgage foreclosure experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proactive approach, able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Paralegal certificate or equivalent legal education preferred.
