Job summary

Fund for Public Health in New York City (FPHNYC) is seeking a Food Standards Program Associate to join the Healthy Eating Unit. The role focuses on NYC Food Standards across multiple settings, including programming, vending, meetings, events, and retail environments.

You will work under the Senior Manager Food Standards in a fast-paced team. The position supports nutrition analysis, data interpretation, and material development while collaborating on site visits and trainings.

Qualifications

• Completed at least the first semester of a master's program in nutrition or public health.
• Culinary background strongly preferred.
• Experience with ESHA Food Processor or similar nutrition analysis software is a plus.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, creative thinking, and follow-through.
• Superior writing skills and effective communication.

Responsibilities

• Research food product nutrition information.
• Perform data entry and assist with interpretation of findings.
• Support nutrition analysis and recipe development for foodservice settings.
• Assist with site visits, trainings, technical assistance, and Food Standards assessments.
• Create technical tools, guides, and promotional materials for NYC Food Standards implementation.
• Draft briefs, prepare presentations, and develop website content.
• Summarize scientific literature to inform program development and strategy.
• Perform other duties to support department goals.
