Job summary

Kelly Services is seeking a Fixed Assets Accountant in Houston, TX for a 1-year contract with a hybrid schedule (3 onsite days in the Energy Corridor). You will manage monthly fixed asset transactions, reconciliations, and reporting to support the close and financial statements.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, asset accounting experience, and proficiency with PowerPlan or SAP, plus strong Excel skills and SOX familiarity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Fixed asset, general accounting, or project accounting experience.
• Month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting experience.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities.
• Experience with PowerPlan and/or SAP.
• SOX compliance experience in energy/utility or capital-intensive industries preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process monthly fixed asset transactions (mass additions/retirements, depreciation, overhead unitizations).
• Prepare monthly reconciliations, PPE rollforwards, and assist with the fixed asset close.
• Prepare and post monthly journal entries and GL reconciliations.
• Generate recurring and ad hoc reports for Tax, Regulatory, FP&A, and partners.
• Support audit requests and maintain SOX controls and documentation.
• Investigate/resolve fixed asset accounting discrepancies and assist with ledger clean-up.
