Job summary

Columbia Fire, LLC is seeking a Design Manager — Fire Sprinkler in Seattle to lead the sprinkler design team, set design standards, stamp work, manage workload and deadlines, and build a training path for new designers. This role remains hands-on, taking on complex projects while mentoring junior designers and coordinating with project management, purchasing, and field leadership for clean handoffs.

Hybrid work is offered with up to two days remote; a P.E.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of fire sprinkler design experience, including complex commercial systems.
• Licensed Professional Engineer with supervisory design responsibilities is preferred.
• NICET Level IV/III credentials are highly valued and may be required for licensure paths.

Responsibilities

• Lead Columbia Fire’s sprinkler design team, setting standards and stamps.
• Manage workload, deadlines, and training paths for designers.
• Coordinate with project management, purchasing, and field leadership for smooth handoffs.
• Design and review complex projects with hands-on involvement when needed.
• Develop and maintain design templates, libraries, and standard details.
