Job summary

The Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning seeks a financial specialist intermediate with procurement, accounting, and financial reporting experience to join our finance team. Reporting to the senior financial manager, you will handle a broad range of financial tasks with accuracy and integrity, collaborating with faculty, staff, and students.

On-campus work is required three days a week in Ann Arbor, with a few remote weeks during the academic year and a fully remote period from

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a financial field is required.
• 3+ years of related financial/accounting experience.
• Proficiency with University procurement processes and MPathway systems.
• Proficient in Excel and Business Objects.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary procurement agent and guide on day-to-day procurement questions.
• Process student stipend payments and back up other payments.
• Assist with contract/sourcing requests.
• Journal entry processing and account closeout.
• Manage course travel reconciliation, payroll reconciliation, and cash/check deposit reconciliation.
• Prepare/review financial transaction reports, variance investigations, and corrections.
• Review monthly internal control and Emburse compliance reports and follow up on issues.
• Participate in year-end accounting closing processes.
• Other duties as assigned by the senior financial manager.
