Job summary

SmartestEnergy Limited is seeking a Reporting Analyst to deliver accurate financial and executive reporting to support decision-making. You will work cross-functionally with Finance, Operations, Commercial, Risk, and other teams to ensure timely, quality insights and robust data controls.

A hybrid role requires 2-3 days in-office weekly in Houston, TX. Salary range $80,000-$100,000 with eligibility for a company bonus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in reporting, financial analysis, business intelligence, or data analytics.
• Experience preparing management or board packs with written commentary.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, Power Query, and complex formulas.
• Experience with reporting and visualization tools such as Power BI or similar platforms.

Responsibilities

• Produce monthly and ad hoc reports for business stakeholders.
• Analyze financial and operational data to identify trends, variances, and performance drivers.
• Develop and maintain dashboards, scorecards, and KPIs.
• Ensure data integrity through validation, reconciliation, and quality control processes.
• Present findings and recommendations in a clear and concise manner.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly reporting packages and supporting analysis.
• Analyze actual results against budget, forecast, and prior periods.
• Provide commentary and insights on significant variances and business drivers.
• Assist in the preparation of executive and board-level reporting materials.
• Extract, transform, and analyze data from various systems and databases.
• Maintain reporting models and automate recurring reporting processes where possible.
• Partner with IT and business teams to improve reporting tools, processes, and data availability.
• Document reporting methodologies, assumptions, and data sources.
• Identify opportunities to improve reporting efficiency, accuracy, and automation.
• Support implementation of new reporting tools and business intelligence solutions.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across reporting and analytics functions.
• Ensure reporting complies with internal controls, policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain traceable support and audit trails for key reports.
• Support audit requests and provide reporting-related information as required.
