Job summary

North Carolina A&T State University seeks a Financial Reporting Accountant to support the university's financial reporting and general accounting. The role focuses on special funds, bond funds, and capital improvement funds, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP and GASB standards.

The position participates in monthly and year-end close processes and contributes to the CAFR; on-site work is typical, with potential for hybrid arrangements in line with policy.

Qualifications

• Experience in higher education accounting or with GASB reporting.
• Experience with Banner Finance or a comparable ERP system.
• Experience preparing financial statements, audit workpapers, account reconciliations, and complex journal entries.

Responsibilities

• Perform professional accounting for all University special funds, including bond and capital funds.
• Prepare financial reports, reconciliations, schedules, and analyses to ensure GAAP/GASB compliance.
• Contribute to monthly, quarterly, and annual closeout and CAFR work papers.
