Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking Field Quality Engineers to investigate dealer and customer concerns, capture environmental data, and provide clear inputs to Product Development.

You will travel regularly to dealer sites and testing environments, document findings with photos and logs, and support structured problem solving to prevent recurrence.

This hybrid role offers cross-functional collaboration, exposure to vehicle platforms, and a direct channel to improve reliability across Ford vehicles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Automotive or Computer/Software engineering.
• 3+ years of vehicle systems and diagnostics experience.
• Willingness to travel 50%+ to dealer, fleet, and customer sites.
• Excellent technical communication and report writing skills.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Travel to dealerships, fleet locations, and customer sites to investigate vehicle concerns firsthand (GEMBA).
• Validate customer concerns by observing real-world conditions and confirming failure modes prior to repair or part replacement.
• Capture operating environments, usage patterns and contributing factors impacting vehicle performance.
• Develop formal technical reports describing failure conditions, reproduction steps, and hypotheses.
• Provide clear inputs to Product Development engineering teams.
